Our Goal

We want to show that there is a just and ethical solution to eating healthy and saving our planet. So we created this website as a way to spread awareness about desertification, regenerative agriculture, holistic management, and the many agricultural problems that are affecting people worldwide.

This whole website is a school project for our justice unit. During this unit, we all tried to find a better understanding of what justice is to us. So Riley and I have put our personal understanding of what justice is to us in relation to this project.

Mason: I have grown up around the solution to climate change for my entire life. Yet, I still haven’t acted on this problem in a big enough way to make any difference. This project is an opportunity for me to show the public the positive effects of regenerative agriculture and eating organic, local foods. Because I live so close to fresh and local foods, a large part of my food ethic is sourcing foods well, which runs directly into my philosophy of justice because the environment is positively affected by local, regenerative farms, and ranches. Bringing this knowledge to the community would make a larger impact on the environment because there would be, higher demands for local, organic food. Which would scale the businesses that care about the environment, and give fewer resources to large corporations. This would, in turn, grow our communities economically, and be the perfect piece in the solution to climate change.

Riley: There is extreme scientific data showing that becoming more consistent with our agricultural choices can strongly impact the state in which our climate is currently in. I have felt so helpless about the impacts climate change has had and will continue to have on my life and the lives of people around me. Food is one of the most important pillars of my life and I honestly know that diet strongly impacts the body in ways that can end life and/or prolong them in ways that shock the world, I want everyone to be able to live a long healthy life and to do that I know we need to revamp the food system. Desertification in agriculture leads to one of the most devastating man-made natural disasters in American history, so if we can learn from our mistakes, reduce the burden on the younger generation, and combat the gangly cold fingers of the American food system to help people eat better food, feel better inside and out why on earth are we still doing what we are doing today?
